Agape Center NRV Update from Joe Davidson

I have the privilege of acting as the Advisory Board President for The Agape Center NRV. My involvement actually goes way beyond that of acting as Board President. I have poured much time and effort into the launching and development of this ministry. God laid the vision of this ministry on my heart in 2016, just before He launched us into full-time ministry. Although we have a long road ahead of us, it is so exciting to see the progress that has been made!

We now have five official member churches and another five churches are actively considering becoming member churches.

In August, we officially combined two food banks into The Agape Center food bank! We have officially adopted The NRV Diaper Pantry and Caleb's Closet (a local clothing pantry) as a part of The Agape Center NRV. We have trained over 20 mentors for our mentoring program, and in August, we served 246 families (representing 967 individuals) through our food pantry alone, many of whom we met with to establish mentoring relationships.

I mentored several individuals personally in August. I was deeply touched by hearing each person's story, their struggles, their hopes and their fears. God showed up in every single mentoring session. Tears were shed, hope and faith were strengthened, and God's agape love wrapped around weary hearts.

All this momentum, while amazing, has been a challenge to manage. We are already bursting at the seams of our temporary location. We are aggressively looking and praying for a permanent home and for more mentors. The need is great, yet we know God will provide the right place at the right time.
