the AGAPE CENTER

If you are interested in volunteering for these specific needs, please call Agape or use the contact button at the bottom of the page.
The following jobs are performed those days Agape is open to clients. You can determine how many days you are available each month.
Store Clerk: Keep store stocked and orderly during and after client hours
Receptionist: Provide a warm greeting to clients upon their arrival. Issue clients their pantry appointment cards. Nominal computer work. Must stay at desk throughout shift.
Telephone Operator: Reply to callers. Transcribe messages from calls and voice messages. Schedule appointments and furniture pick-ups. Prepare report at the end of the day.
USDA Receptionist: Talk with clients and using a computer tablet, update their information on the USDA web site.
Pantry Food Unloader: Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays at 1PM, weigh and log food deliveries, store food, and restock pantry shelves. Check freezer and refrigerator temperatures.
The following jobs require 1 to 2 hours and are done on a weekly basis:
Bread Pickup: Wednesdays at 10AM, work on a 2 person team to pick up bread from Lake Christian Ministries (5 minute drive) and unload into the walk-in-coolers at Agape
Donation Sorter: Help sort and deliver donated items throughout building. Helpful if available to come in on short notice. Good job for those who can make quick decisions and don’t mind getting a bit dirty.
Library Sorter: Sort, screen, and shelve incoming book and media donations. Distribute unused materials to other organizations. Help clients and volunteers find materials.
Clothing Reception: Come in on a regular basis (once a month or more frequently if possible) to sort clothing. Ideal for groups or individuals.
The following jobs have no set hours so you have some flexibility in deciding when you would like to volunteer
